This role leads all legal, compliance, and risk management activities across Southeast Asia. The position acts as the key liaison between the APAC business unit and global headquarters, ensuring alignment on regulatory, legal, and governance matters.

Job Description

  • Lead all legal and compliance matters across Southeast Asia
  • Draft, review, and manage commercial, labour, and procurement contracts
  • Establish and maintain contract governance, documentation, and reporting processes
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes across Thailand and other SEA markets
  • Provide guidance on local regulations including foreign business laws, labour law, and industry-specific requirements
  • Oversee intellectual property registration and protection across multiple jurisdictions
  • Act as the primary contact between regional operations and global legal teams
  • Coordinate implementation of global compliance programmes
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to governance frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on compliance and CSR initiatives
  • Drive annual compliance reporting and continuous improvement projects
  • Mentor and manage a small legal team while influencing a broader regional legal network
  • Travel across ASEAN markets as required

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal and Compliance Manager should have:

  • Degree in Law (Master's preferred) from a reputable institution
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in legal and/or compliance roles (in-house or private practice)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks within Thailand and Southeast Asia
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder management and communication skills
