Job Description

  • Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and reporting standards.
  • Review and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial submissions.
  • Strengthen internal controls and maintain audit readiness.
  • Oversee statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance in Malaysia.
  • Act as escalation point for financial risks and discrepancies.
  • Monitor actual financial performance vs. Investment Proposal (IP) assumptions.
  • Track key metrics including revenue, EBITDA, working capital, capex, and synergies.
  • Develop and maintain IP vs. Actual tracking models.
  • Prepare quarterly variance analysis reports with clear root-cause insights and projections.
  • Identify performance gaps using structured analysis.
  • Distinguish between controllable and external drivers.
  • Develop corrective action plans with clear accountability and KPIs.
  • Track execution and escalate overdue or high-risk issues.
  • Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Identify automation opportunities and reduce manual reporting work.
  • Improve efficiency, cost control, and productivity across finance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Provide insights to improve profitability and working capital.
  • Advise stakeholders on financial implications of decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions to strengthen business outcomes.
  • Act as the key liaison between Group HQ and local operations.
  • Communicate performance, risks, and actions clearly to leadership.
  • Prepare executive-level materials for Board and senior stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Controller should have:

  • 10-15 years of experience in finance, with strong controllership background.
  • Proven exposure to post-merger / post-acquisition integration.
  • Experience tracking business case / investment performance vs. actuals.
  • Exposure to regional or matrix organizations.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of Malaysian finance, tax, and regulatory framework
  • CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification required.
  • Fluency in both Thai and English.
