Job Description

  • Direct and oversee budgeting, costing, fixed asset, and weighing operations to ensure smooth day-to-day execution
  • Manage production cost closures, manufacturing expenses, and cost of sales while reviewing cost variances against plans
  • Coordinate physical stock counts and assess inventory valuation to ensure realistic asset reporting
  • Drive the annual budgeting process in alignment with strategic business objectives
  • Plan, monitor, and track capital investment spending and performance
  • Deliver monthly management reports and financial analyses to support executive decision-making
  • Provide analytical input for quarterly and annual management performance discussions and disclosures
  • Supervise asset capitalization, depreciation, and physical verification processes
  • Ensure accurate recording of material and product movements through truck scale controls
  • Act as a key contact for auditors and regulatory bodies regarding cost and asset matters

The Successful Applicant

A successful Department Manager - Budgeting & Costing should have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in budgeting and cost control within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership background managing multi-functional finance teams
  • Strong command of SAP, particularly in cost-related modules
  • Deep knowledge of financial planning, forecasting methodologies, and scenario modelling
  • High-level capability in data analysis, reporting, and management presentations
  • Confident leader with a strong ownership mindset and a collaborative working style
