Job Description

  • Set and maintain the retail strategy, ensuring it supports agreed banking business priorities.
  • Develop strategic plans that give clear direction to retail banking activity.
  • Review retail market information and business performance to inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify priorities for retail products, customer propositions and channel activity.
  • Work with relevant banking teams to translate strategy into practical plans.
  • Track progress against strategic priorities and recommend adjustments where needed.
  • Prepare clear strategic updates and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Head Of Retail Strategy' should have:

  • Strong experience in retail strategy and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of retail banking products, customer needs and distribution channels.
  • Ability to analyse business information and turn findings into practical priorities.
  • Experience developing and presenting strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to work across banking functions to align plans and delivery.
  • Clear judgement when reviewing performance and setting strategic direction.
