The Deputy CEO will act as the second-in-command, directly supporting the CEO in driving overall business performance, strategic execution, and organizational leadership. This role is critical in translating corporate strategy into operational excellence across all FMCG functions including sales, marketing, supply chain, and commercial operations.

Job Description

1. Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Partner with the CEO to define and execute short- and long-term business strategies
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans across all business units
  • Monitor market trends, competitor movements, and consumer insights to adjust strategy proactively
  • Lead transformation initiatives, including digitalization and go-to-market optimization



2. Commercial & Revenue Growth

  • Own topline growth targets across channels, categories, and geographies
  • Drive sales excellence, including modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce
  • Oversee pricing strategy, promotions, and revenue management
  • Ensure strong brand positioning and marketing ROI



3. Operations & Supply Chain Oversight

  • Supervise end-to-end supply chain efficiency, including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics
  • Ensure demand planning accuracy and inventory optimization
  • Drive cost efficiency and margin improvement initiatives



4. Organizational Leadership

  • Lead and align cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and HR
  • Build a high-performance culture with clear KPIs and accountability
  • Act as a key decision-maker in executive leadership forums
  • Mentor senior leadership team and ensure succession planning



5. Financial Performance Management

  • Oversee P&L performance and ensure achievement of financial targets
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial discipline across functions
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies



6. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key interface between CEO, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders
  • Maintain strong relationships with key partners, distributors, and strategic clients
  • Represent the company in industry forums and key negotiations

The Successful Applicant

Experience

  • 15 to 20 years of experience in FMCG or consumer goods industry
  • Proven track record in senior leadership roles, such as Commercial Director, COO, or GM
  • Strong exposure to multi-channel distribution, including traditional and modern trade
  • Experience managing large-scale teams and complex P&L structures



Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability
  • Deep understanding of FMCG market dynamics and consumer behavior
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of financial acumen and analytical thinking
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment



Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree preferred
