Manager

Before PageGroup, where were you and what were your specialisations?

Prior to PageGroup, I was with PTT Group, a national oil and gas company in Thailand, working as a Business Development and Planning Analyst. Before that, I was a buying manager at Tesco (Thailand), a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer. Initially, I began my career as a commodities trader at Cargill where I gained a lot of commercial awareness. With a diverse career path and strong background of education in science, I would say that I am specialised in both corporate finance and business development, in particular within the industrial sector.

Why did you join PageGroup and what is your current role?

I always had a passion to work as a recruiter as a result of reading a book called “The Real Deal” written by James Caan. I was interested in the idea of making money by finding the right people for businesses. Nonetheless, after college I began working in several different industries before I found my way to PageGroup. For other people, PageGroup might find you, but for me I found PageGroup. The reputation of the company attracted me and compelled me to join - I profoundly believed that all these people must do something right because the company has been in business for 40 years. At the moment, my role is as a consultant in finance and accounting particularly the industrial sector.

How has your past experience helped you in your current role?

My past experience has helped me greatly in terms of industry knowledge because I have been recruiting finance and accounting professionals within the industrial sector in which I has previously worked. Therefore, I would know the jobs that they do and understand our candidates’ needs when they wish to change roles.

Successes / achievements that you have accomplished during your time at PageGroup

I joined Michael Page as the first hire in the Michael Page Thailand business launch team. I have played a significant part in building the Finance & Accounting candidate and client databases covering all industries in Thailand. Apart from this, I was the top biller for the Thailand Office in the first quarter of 2017.

How have you grown with PageGroup?

I had been trained by the management team at PageGroup which helps me to grow my career. At the time, the recruitment industry was completely new to me. Therefore, the guidance and inside knowledge from other consultants was of paramount importance to me.

What are the most rewarding parts of your job?

Apart from monetary rewards, I would say that the most rewarding element of this job is to see my candidates successfully progress in their careers.

What advice would you give to graduates who are looking to join the recruitment industry?

If you are looking for a career which will challenge you every day, knowing that each day in your career will not be the same, then recruitment is a career you should consider.
