Our client is a leader in food retail within the local market.

Job Description

  • Formulate and implement instructions, policies, procedures, and vendor selection criteria for purchasing and contract management.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in procuring and distributing goods and services for relevant departments.
  • Manage budgets within the purchasing department.
  • Anticipate demand for services and products.
  • Conduct or commission market research to identify optimal products and suppliers based on value, delivery schedules, and quality. Predict price trends and assess their impact on future activities.
  • Develop purchasing strategies to achieve or surpass cost savings and supplier performance targets.
  • Represent the company in negotiations on trading terms, contracts, and policy formulation with suppliers. Monitor the quality of provided goods or services.
  • Establish and regularly update a database of vendor sources and market prices.
  • Ensure suppliers are aligned with business objectives. Conduct value-for-money reviews of existing contracts and agreements, leading periodic performance reviews for vendors.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, and relevant internal departments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as an international procurement manager within the Non-Food category for the SEA countries including Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.
  • Team management experience required.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to manage international supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools, as well as a good understanding of ERP systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex procurement processes and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Adherence to ethical sourcing practices and a commitment to sustainability in the food supply chain.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
