decades.Job DescriptionProgram Development and ManagementProvide strategic leadership to the country team in developing and managing the country program, ensuring it:Contributes to regional and global agendas,Aligns with relevant national policies and stakeholder priorities,Mobilises key resources and capacities to achieve targeted programmatic results.Oversee program management staff to ensure quality assurance for the project portfolio and full compliance with organisational policies and standards, covering the entire program cycle from planning and implementation to monitoring and reporting.Lead the analysis and monitoring of the country's environmental, political, social, and economic contexts to guide program development and management.Contribute to the development of inter-country, trans boundary, and regional projects and programs in coordination with regional offices.Resource Mobilisation and Strategic FinanceIdentify and pursue new partnerships to mobilise resources and expand the country's project portfolio under its priority program areas and strategic themes.Ensure the long-term financial stability of the country office and program through diversified funding streams and innovative business development models.Lead country-level strategic financial planning, monitoring, and implementation of relevant control and compliance measures in coordination with regional finance teams.Participate in the sub-regional management team for inter-country resource mobilisation under the overall coordination of the regional head.Country RepresentationAct as the legal and official representative in the country, maintaining strong working relations with the host government, guided by senior leadership from regional and global offices.Ensure that necessary agreements and memorandum of understanding are established and maintained to provide the official legal basis for the organisation's presence and operations in-country.Serve as the public face of the organisation in the country, maintaining high visibility of the programmatic vision and outcomes, and articulating key messages on expertise, knowledge products, and roles that contribute to strategic benefits for the country.Provide policy advice to the government and key stakeholders regarding environment-related multilateral agreements, conventions, and treaties the host country has ratified, in consultation with relevant experts.Engagement with Members and PartnersMaintain and grow the membership base in the country, identify opportunities for strategic collaboration, and liaise with regional and global membership units.Support national committees through regular dialogues and communications, and facilitate members' engagement in events, activities, and initiatives.Foster partnerships and programmatic linkages with relevant government agencies, civil society, private sectors, and members of the international community in the country.Enhance collaboration with members and commissions, and other constituencies at country, regional, and global levels in accordance with the organisation's "One Programme Approach."General AdministrationDeploy human, financial, technical, and administrative resources of the country office to effectively and efficiently achieve programmatic targets.Ensure the country office's compliance with applicable corporate services policies and procedures, standards and safeguards assurance, risk management, and other oversight/control mechanisms.Provide overall administrative supervision to the country team, including human resources planning, talent management, and performance assessment.Work with sub-regional and regional management teams for continuous improvement of the country office's organisational and operational arrangements.Serve as a role model for ethical professional conduct, promoting core values of integrity and trust, transparency, professionalism, accountability, equality, inclusiveness, and respect for diversity.Perform any other duties as assigned by and agreed with the regional director.The Successful ApplicantBangladeshi national with total work experience of 10+ years of experience in not for profit sectorExperience in Conservation or Development area is a mustPrior experience of being a Country Representative in a high impact not for profit managing end to end country operationsAbility to act as a diplomat, managing government relationships, balancing fund raising and large scale project deliverablesExcellent
